More than 200 dairy leaders, including farmers from across the country, came together at the 2025 Dairy Sustainability Alliance® Spring Meeting to accelerate progress toward shared sustainability goals. Hosted by the checkoff-founded Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, this annual event creates space for collaboration across the entire dairy value chain—from producers to processors, retailers, NGOs and government partners.
The meeting emphasized the critical role of farmers in shaping sustainable solutions. As boots-on-the-ground experts, producers bring firsthand knowledge and experience that is essential to developing realistic, impactful strategies. Attendees engaged in open, productive conversations that prioritized understanding and problem-solving over debate.
Farmers highlighted what sustainability truly means on the farm—passing the operation on to the next generation, caring for animals and natural resources, being a good neighbor and ensuring long-term economic viability. As interest in sustainability grows among consumers, policymakers and dairy customers, farmer perspectives are more important than ever to ensure expectations align with practical, on-farm realities.
